We have decided to share with you some of our guest comments about our cave. It is noteworthy to mention that out of the approximately 2300 entries that we have read, that there were no negative comments. This high level of guest satisfaction is attributed to our exceptional cave coupled with our highly trained guides. It is our intent to provide you with an educational experience and hope that you leave with an appreciation for caves and the unique ecosystems within them.

Josh was great! Thank you for a great tour. We are so glad that we chose Raccoon Mountain Caverns over Ruby Falls. It was less congested, priced lower, and family friendly for sure. If we’d had an RV, we would have stayed at the campground on site too. (September 2011)

We chose to check out this cavern instead of Ruby Falls because of the reviews from TripAdvisor, and we are sure glad we did! Raccoon Mountain Caverns was our first destination and was easy to find..
This cave wasn’t as heavily publicized as Ruby Falls, so we didn’t run into the typical tourist traffic. Josh was our great guide and answered even the toughest questions with ease. This is well worth the cost. (September 2011)

Hi - Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed the cave tour! We had Travis as our guide, and it was just him, me, my husband, and our 5-year old. It could have been weird having such a small tour, but Travis was totally at ease and we had a great time. We skipped Ruby Falls, wanting something more “natural”, and found it at Raccoon Mountain Caverns.
After our tour, my son “panned for gems” and had a great time! Even though we purchased the small bag, he found a lot of gems and rocks. Raccoon Mountain Caverns was one of the highlights of our trip, and was well worth the money. (July 2009)

I want to commend Jacob for the job he did on our Fossil Crawl (expedition). Everyone at the caverns was so nice, from the gift shop to the guides. My husband so wanted to do one of the guided tours “behind the scenes” so to speak. The day had arrived and we met Jacob, he took us to get our knee pads, helmet and gloves, then we were off. The first crawl we did was probably the hardest and my husband began thinking he had made a mistake, but Jacob said he could tailor the adventure to meet his needs and it all would not be like the first crawl. Jacob seemed to be in sync with my husband, seemed to know just when he might need a rest. Jacob frequently gave us options as to crawl, climb or whatever. At the end of the tour, my husband seemed to have new confidence in himself and finished strong.
The entire experience was perfect. That young man explained that he had been with Raccoon Mountain Caverns for approximately 4 months -- which I find shocking (as) his knowledge of the cave led me to believe he had far more than that. I can not do justice in thanking him and Raccoon Mountain. The Fossil Crawl was certainly the highlight of our trip.
Thank you everyone at the caverns that made our trip a success. Please see to it that Jacob gets a big “atta” boy from us and his superiors. They must know what a wonderful employee (he is) and they were wise enough to hire him. (October 2009)
(Manager’s Comment: Jacob received his “atta” boy. While Jacob may have only been with us for a few months at the time of their tour, he has a passion for caving and completed our extensive guide training program in near record time. All wild cave guides go through a training and certification program so that our guests are provided with highly skilled and competent guides with extensive knowledge of our cave system.)
